PGAS and Sinopec signed 3 LNG sale and purchase agreement

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk and Sinopec signed a Liqufied natural gas or LNG sale agreement in China for 2020. This agreement is an important history of PGN as subholding gas in Indonesia. Moreover, in mid-2019, this oil and gas issuer with PGAS code got the assignment from Pertamina to manage the end-to-end LNG business in Indonesia.

PGN's Director of Strategy and Business Development Syahrial Muktar said, China is a large country with a variety of business opportunities. Based on energy needs to support economic growth in China, China needs energy sources to fill the gap between energy production and rising consumption. 

    For PGN, this sale and purchase helped sell LNG portfolio owned by Pertamina and carried out the role of PGAS as a gas holding sub-company.

Sinopec

"We are very enthusiastic to build cooperation between Sinopec and PGN. "Sinopec is one of the biggest energy companies in China," he said.

Syahrial explained, the purpose of signing the LNG purchase agreement with Sinopec was the beginning of collaborating in the future.

"Hopefully, we can further explore the potential of LNG sales and the development of LNG infrastructure with this opportunity, from the terminals, small-scale, bunkers, and so on," he added.

PGAS dan Sinopec Teken 3 Perjanjian Jual Beli LNG

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk dan Sinopec menandatangani perjanjian jual beli Liqufied natural gas atau LNG di China untuk tahun 2020. Perjanjian ini menjadi sejarah penting PGN sebagai subholding gas di Indonesia. Apalagi, pada pertengahan 2019, emiten migas bersandi PGAS ini mendapat tugas dari Pertamina untuk mengelola bisnis LNG end-to-end di Indonesia.

Direktur Strategi dan Pengembangan Bisnis PGN Syahrial Muktar mengatakan, China merupakan negara besar dengan beragam peluang bisnis. Berdasarkan kebutuhan energi untuk mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi di China, China membutuhkan sumber energi untuk mengisi kesenjangan antara produksi energi dengan konsumsi yang terus naik. 

    Bagi PGN, jual beli ini membantu penjualan protofolio LNG yang dimiliki Pertamina dan menjalankan peran PGAS sebagai sub holding gas. 

“Kami sangat antusias untuk membangun kerjasama antara Sinopec dan PGN. Sinopec adalah salah satu perusahaan energi terbesar di China," katanya.

Syahrial menjelaskan, tujuan meneken kerjasama jual beli LNG dengan Sinopec merupakan awal dari untuk terus berkolaborasikan ke depannya. 

"Harapannya, kami bisa mengeksplorasi potensi penjualan LNG dan pengembangan infrastruktur LNG secara lebih jauh dengan kesempatan ini, dari mulai terminal, skala-skala kecil, bungker, dan sebagainya," imbuh dia.
