Special Unit for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) will not accept the Masela gas price bid of US $ 3 per mmbtu from domestic buyers.
Not only the Masela Block, the decision also applies to all gas prices from various gas fields in Indonesia. Not without basis, SKK Migas refers to the offer of gas prices from overseas bidders higher than local bidders. For example the price of gas in Bintuni Bay West Papua with an indicative offer price of US $ 5.2 per mmbtu.
"I went to China all the way there, where it costs US $ 6.2," said Amien Sunaryadi, Head of SKK Migas.
Therefore, SKK Migas argues that the local bidder for the Masela gas price of US $ 3 per mmbtu just wants to find nesting. It is possible that the bidder is a gas broker who then resells the purchased gas. Therefore rather than selling gas at low prices, SKK Migas chose to seek out its own gas buyers.
"For upstream oil and gas, if you bid US $ 3, we will find buyers themselves," said Amien.
Just so you know, the government has set the production capacity of liquefied natural gas (LNG) Masela Block reaches 9.5 MTPA and gas pipe of 150 mmscfd. The gas field production target in Maluku is in 2029.

SKK Migas Tidak Mau Menjual Harga Gas US$ 3 per mmbtu
Satuan Kerja Khusus Pelaksana Kegiatan Usaha Hulu Minyak dan Gas Bumi (SKK Migas) tidak akan menerima tawaran harga gas Blok Masela sebesar US$ 3 per mmbtu dari pembeli domestik.
Tidak hanya Blok Masela, keputusan tersebut juga berlaku untuk semua harga gas dari berbagai lapangan gas di Indonesia. Bukan tanpa dasar, SKK Migas mengacu pada tawaran harga gas dari penawar luar negeri yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan penawar lokal. Sebagai contoh harga gas di Teluk Bintuni Papua Barat dengan tawaran harga indikatif sebesar US$ 5,2 per mmbtu.
"Saya pergi ke China jauh-jauh ke sana, di sana harganya US$ 6,2," tegas Amien Sunaryadi, Kepala SKK Migas.
Maka dari itu, SKK Migas berpendapat, penawar lokal harga gas Blok Masela sebesar US$ 3 per mmbtu hanya ingin mencari kenutungan. Tidak menutup kemungkinan penawar tersebut adalah perantara gas yang kemudian menjual kembali gas yang dibeli. Oleh karenanya daripada menjual gas pada harga rendah, SKK Migas memilih untuk mencari pembeli gas sendiri.
"Bagi hulu migas, kalau menawar US$ 3, kami akan cari pembeli sendiri," tegas Amien.
Asal tahu, pemerintah sudah menetapkan kapasitas produksi liquefied natural gas (LNG) Blok Masela mencapai 9,5 MTPA dan gas pipa sebesar 150 mmscfd. Adapun target produksi lapangan gas di Maluku tersebut pada tahun 2029.
