The decline in world oil prices and fluctuations in the rupiah did not affect the performance of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN). In the first quarter of this year, the state-owned company managed to book a net profit of Rp 1.29 trillion.
"PGN's performance is improving in global conditions and fluctuations in the rupiah against the US dollar," said PGN Corporate Secretary Heri Yusup.
Throughout the first three months of 2017, PGN posted net income of USD 746 million or an increase of USD 26 million compared to the same period last year.
"The increase is due to the increase in revenues from the exploration and production segments of oil and gas," Heri said.
Furthermore, operating profit was recorded at USD 155.7 million and earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of USD 254 million. Net income in USD reached 96.8 million. During the period of January-March 2017, PGN distributed 1,542 million cubic feet of gas (transmission and distribution) per day (mmscfd) or decreased compared to the same period last year of 1,643 mmscfd.
In details, the volume of distribution gas reaches 816 mmscfd or up compared to the same period last year 797 mmscfd. Furthermore, the volume of transmission or transportation of natural gas reached 726 mmscfd, down compared to the same period last year, which was 846 mmscfd.

Penurunan harga minyak dunia dan fluktuasi nilai tukar rupiah tidak memengaruhi kinerja PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN). Pada kuartal pertama tahun ini, perusahaan pelat merah itu berhasil membukukan laba bersih Rp 1,29 triliun.
"Kinerja PGN tercatat membaik di saat kondisi global dan fluktuasi nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar AS," kata Sekretaris Perusahaan PGN Heri Yusup.
Sepanjang tiga bulan pertama 2017, PGN membukukan pendapatan bersih USD 746 juta atau meningkat USD 26 juta jika dibandingkan dengan periode yang sama tahun lalu.
”Peningkatan tersebut disebabkan adanya kenaikan pendapatan dari segmen eksplorasi dan produksi minyak dan gas," kata Heri.
Selanjutnya, laba operasi tercatat mencapai USD 155,7 juta dan laba sebelum pajak, bunga, depresiasi, dan amortisasi (EBITDA) USD 254 juta. Laba bersih dalam USD mencapai 96,8 juta. Selama periode Januari-Maret 2017, PGN menyalurkan gas bumi (transmisi dan distribusi) 1.542 juta kaki kubik per hari (mmscfd) atau turun bila dibandingkan dengan periode yang sama tahun lalu, yakni 1.643 mmscfd.
Perinciannya, volume gas distribusi mencapai 816 mmscfd atau naik jika dibandingkan dengan periode yang sama tahun lalu 797 mmscfd. Selanjutnya, Volume transmisi atau pengangkutan gas bumi mencapai 726 mmscfd, turun bila dibandingkan dengan periode yang sama tahun lalu, yakni 846 mmscfd.
