Chairman of Commission A of the Bojonegoro Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Sugeng Hary Anggoro, asked the traditional oil miners from the old Wonocolo well to be patient and await a decision regarding the revision of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Regulation No. 1/2008. He stated that during a recent working visit, Commission A of the Bojonegoro Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) visited the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to inquire about the fate of the traditional oil miners.
The point he made was that under the ministerial regulation, traditional miners can still mine in the old well area through Village Unit Cooperatives (KUD). These KUDs will collaborate with the Mining Working Area (WKP) owner, in this case, PT Pertamina Aset 4 Field Cepu. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources plans to revise the ministerial regulation. Commission A hopes this will be done soon so that miners currently working in the old well oil mining area, both in the Kawengan and Malo areas, can obtain legal certainty.
Meanwhile, the miners recently received a warning letter from PT Geo Cepu Indonesia (GCI) urging them to immediately vacate the mining wells they are working on. GCI, as the holder of the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Operational Cooperation contract with Pertamina Aset 4, will drill the old wells to meet the target set by PT Pertamina Aset 4 Field Cepu. Meanwhile, Sigit Kushariyanto, Chairman of Commission B of the Bojonegoro Regency Regional Representative Council, expressed a similar hope.
Commission B, after a recent visit to the Ministry of Cooperatives, expressed its hope that the community would retain jobs there. We hope the Ministry of Cooperatives will also support this and restore the cooperative's role as an intermediary between miners and Pertamina Aset 4, the owner of the Mining Working Area (WKP).
